The launching of the book was held with a press and public conference, done by Br Edgard, followed by a dialogue with those who were present.
Today, more and more professors from all the continents are inspired by the pedagogy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle to carry out the educational enterprise. To a greater or lesser extent, they wish to put into concrete, in the appropriate way, the original intuitions of the Patron of Educatiors. But to achieve this with authenticity, they must be familiar with these intuitions, how to recognize the education that La Salle conceived of and practiced, and understand the manner in which to carry it out according to their particular context.
This book shares that information and helps in its understanding. It details the characteristics of education that La Salle conceptualized and practiced: a universal, popular, integrative and integrating, Christian, student-centered, connected to life, efficient and effective, fraternal and open to society, to the Church, and to the family.
The author hopes that with the help of this work, the El autor espera que, con el auxilio de este texto, those who continue the work of La Salle can educate today with faithfulness to the fundamental Lasallian intentions and the needs of the 21st century, taking advantage of the as well of the scientific and technical resources which were not available to La Salle in his time.
